Here at Better Fresh Farms, in this charming town of Metter that’s so wonderfully far away from the cold Canadian winters I hail from, we’re celebrating Christmas early. With the wide-eyed excitement of a child seeing Santa for the first time, our thriving team has grown. CEO and founder Grant Anderson is pleased to welcome 3 new folks who’ve traveled like wisemen from afar.

Not quite as exciting as Old Saint Nick’s beard when it gets near the grill, but with equal energy, is the most anticipated arrival of Denis Lepine. He too is a Canadian, from Northern Ontario, the place Santa avoids until the end of his rounds because “even hockey players say it’s just too bloody cold there”.

Denis is the bearded wonderkind seen walking in shorts before sunrise across the fields, or at anytime of day or night throughout town since his arrival in early October. He’s been warming hearts and impressing thoughtful minds across the state with his engaging personality and business know-how. As head of Better Fresh Farm’s operations and all things visionary, Denis has freed up Grant’s hands to better steer the business expansion that is now underway.

I’m witnessing the magic of everyday, small-town life. Folks immediately made me feel welcomed into their community. The church congregation is calling me Canadian Charlie. This is to differentiate me from a local dude that’s no-where near as good looking but goes by Southern Charlie.

My name is Neil Minshall and I approve this message, lol. You may see me around downtown, a tall drink of water studying everything new —from southern antebellum columns and sleeping sized porches with rockers & swinging seats, on wide-open, unfenced lots. Shooting (with a camera) the whitest cotton fields, peanut rows and eucalyptus trees.

BTW, take notice of me taking notice of all the attractions that make the south The South. Like long red-clay roads lined with azaleas and over-sized trucks with diesel tanks in the back box revving past so many pecan tree orchards. It’s challenging to write about myself so I’ll attempt to infer modesty by establishing that this silver-haired gentleman actually has a quiet demeanor and humble hair. But don’t be fooled by it if you ever want to play 8-ball. I’m very happy to be working as the Sr. Communications Officer with this amazing team of purpose-driven experts.

Casey Wells is first rate. As our CFO, Casey was encouraged to join BFF after a few years in investment banking in DC and 15 years of banking in Savannah. A local education in Statesboro means he’s well aware of the local markets too. His brilliant math brain and problem-solving DNA has already secured BFF’s position to weather unforeseen conditions. He cycles everywhere, loves golf and is addicted to college football (of course). You’ll see him and his pup Palmer scoping out trinkets in all the quaint shops Metter has to offer.
